2.5 years together = really big steak. ________________________________________________________________

And so, my curiosity has finally been satisfied.
For the longest time, i've wanted to dine at steakhouse Lawry's. I remember during my college days, my friends and i would walk pass Lawry's and joke about having lunch or dinner at the impressive-looking restaurant, with its equally impressing looking prices. We always dared each other to enter, but we never did. How can a piece of beef possibly cost that much?!
Haha.
And so, dearie brought me there today. For our 2.5 years anniversary, and also a celebration of the end of his exams.
Finally, I got a peek of how the restaurant looks like beyond its wooden walkway.
The first thing to hit you once you step foot into the restaurant - the weird looking uniforms the waitresses are clothed in. Reminded me of ancient chambermaids.
Then, the captain led us to a square table with a fine looking tablecloth and polished silverware.
Then there was the helping you pull your chair out - but me being me, plomp my butt down before the captain could lift a finger.
Then there was the menu. With its ridiculous prices. Yes, i still think the prices are ridiculous even though i am now earning real money. It's didn't take us long to pick the lawry's cut - the recommended cut. $78 each for that choice. And of course there was the bottled water which you have to pay $6.50 for.
I guess the whole point of going to a place like Lawry's is for the experience.
The place is dimly lit, people bother to lower their voices when they converse, you dont get chipped plates.
And then of course there is the famous salad, an entire performance on its own.
It comes in a metal bowl on a bed of ice. The waitress then introduces the ingredients in the salad sauce and then she literally tips toe and pours the sauce, like a ballerina, into the metal bowl. Then the spinning of the bowl on the bed of ice starts. Amusing to watch. Not too bad to taste too. And of course, they servce it on a chilled plate with a chilled fork.
The the steak. Nice, big and bloody, just the way i like it. Oh yah, there's chunks of fat in it too, makes it even yummier. Juicy to my liking. A definate thumbs up. I finished the entire thing. :)
Well, overall i would say i enjoyed the experience. Nice meal, nice ambience. Just that for that money, we could have eaten tons of other things which i believe would taste equally great.
Next time i'll give morton's a try.
Anyway, thanks for the wonderful night dear and of course the lovely 2.5 years :)

Travis - Flowers in the Window

There's no reason to feel bad
But there are many reasons to feel glad, sad, mad
Its just a bunch of feelings that we have to hold
But i am here to help you with the load.

Wow look at you now
Flowers in the window
It's such a lovely day
And i am glad that you feel the same
Cause to stand up i'm in the crowd
You're one in a million
And i love you so, so lets watch the flowers grow.
