The one?

And so, it's come up during several dinner conversations.
"How do you know he/she's the one you want to marry?"
The question, not directed to me of course, but often to someone slightly more senior at the table. Usually someone who's been married for quite awhile.
And yep, i've heard my fair share of answers but they usually all come to one conclusion.
"There's no perfect man, you just have to make up your mind and stick to one guy."
Usually the table just nod and a couple of us mumble a couple of "Yea..", "think so too".
But during one of such conversations lately, someone said:
"Huh, but don't you believe that there are some people who can make you happier than others?"
Then it got me thinking. Yea. There are probably people who can make you happier than others. Then, how do we know when the right person comes along? Do you get hyper-happy? Do you laugh all the time? How do you know, how?
Then somone always ends the conversation like this: "Haiya, you will know it when it comes lar."
Hmm.
Perhaps.
But right now, some of us are just left bewildered and confused.
