No internet, how to work?
________________________________________________________________
We've officially morphed into this society which can't do without the INTERNET.
Yes yes, and so i learnt that the devastating earthquake in Taiwan cuts off much of Asia's internet. While i was getting annoyed at my stupid laptop for taking forever to load some internet pages this afternoon, i realised i wasn't alone. At my gathering with the girls this evening, everyone of us was complaining of the inconvenience of this internet cutoff.
Now, going without the internet is like going without your cellphone. You feel like you're isolated from the rest of the world, you feel like you're too important to do without this thing called the internet. What's going to happen to all the emails that are gonna go unreplied? What's gonna happen to that blog that needs to be updated? What's gonna happen to all my stocks and shares? Ahh...
And the worst part of it all - it's gonna take 3 weeks to get the system working perfect again. And so since we can't do much to fix those underground pipes in Taiwan ourselves, i suggest we all go on a three week break. Woohoo. Since Singapore is such a technologically advanced society - thanks to the superbly efficient government of course, there really isn't much we can do at work without the internet ain't it? C'mon, no one even writes with a pen and paper these days, we all type!
So why not let us go on a three weeks nation wide break?!
Schools should all postpone their opening, officies should take a long new years' holiday and those internet addicts should all go cold turkey (though its way past christmas, hohoho).
Everyone in support of my proposal, please blink. Ahh...i see it's a popular idea. Genius.
But wait.... if you can still read this, you probably ain't affected by the internet cut. So, you can probably still get those work done. So, you should probably get your lazy ass back to work you skiver. Shame on you! haha.

The first anniversary.
________________________________________________________________
It's been a crazy month!
December has always been my favorite month and people who are close to me all know why. Since young, i always associated december with a month of holiday and presents. I am a december baby you see, born exactly a week before christmas. Mom couldn't have picked a better time. hoho.
But this year, it was extra festive.
Because, my anniversary with dearie falls on december too!
9th Dec - Our Anniversary 18th Dec - My birthday 25th Dec - Christmas 1st Jan - New Year
So, you get my point. Every week in december is occupied by a big day. I'm a happy happy girl in december, minus the sucky weather.
Anyway, time for some photo recap. Let's start with the anniversary celebration.
This time round, i planned a little surprise for dearie. We went on a treasure hunt, going back to all the memorable spots in our relationship. The treasure hunt was followed by a picnic lunch at botanic gardens and then we had dinner at spaggedies - the venue of our first date. The night ended with tiramisu and tea at coffee club, just like what we did on our first date too.
Overall, we had a really lovely time reliving memories.
My favorite part of the entire celebration, was when dearie gave me this book titled "Our firsts". The first sms, the first msn conversation, the first date, the first kiss, the first birthday celebration, you name it, its in there. Every date comes with a little paragraph of his innermost thoughts. In case you don't know, writing ain't exactly his forte. For the entire year we were together, i only got 2 cards - both of which had very little words on them. So, for him to come up with this entire book must have been a great great effort. Love it! It's by my bedside and i flip through it sometimes before i go to sleep. It always leaves plenty of sweetness in me. :) Thanks dear, i couldn't ask for a better gift.
Anyways, 2 birthdays, 2 christmases, many fights, many laughter and many hugs and kisses later, here we are one year later. Happier than before, better together than before.
Love, a weird weird thing. It always leaves you with this bittersweet aftertaste no matter what happens.

The warmth of christmas.
________________________________________________________________
This christmas, i am feeling a different kind of warmth. Something warm and fuzzy, something gentle, not burning. This little fire of love within.
Our second christmas together, one even more perfect than the last. Nothing special but sometimes that's what matters. The ability to engage even in the most mundane activities and find joy.
The fire is still burning. It's not stifling hot, it's not melting cold. It's a warm charcoal-y buzz.
Love keeps you going and i guess that's what matters on christmas day. Thanking God for giving us a second chance, thanking God for giving us our loved ones.
Merry merry christmas everyone. I hope you all had a good one. :)

Guess who's back, back again?
Baobei's back, tell a friend!
Those who are familiar with my blog should be familiar with mr baobei. A friend i had countless days of fun with back when i was leading the "duo luo" life of an exchange student. We went for countless factory outlet shopping trips, went to malibu beach, went for countless dinners, went for countless drives in search of the best ang moh chicken rice, we had many many nights of drunken stupor at his apartment, we went from LA to seattle to portland, to oregan, to vancouver to san francisco to the moutains...the list goes on.
Basically, we had alot of fun together back in the states and he took really good care of me when i was there, always ferrying me around and persuading me to ditch my books and hit the roads. In simple terms, he's a "soon you" (horrible friend). Haha.
But oh wells. Haha.
The funny thing is, i bumped into him everywhere i go. Even in far away bangkok and then in jurong point just recently.
It was really nice to just finally sit down and have a nice simple lunch with him. Reminded me of old times! Mr A came later and the gang were going for ktv while i met up with boon! Of course, had to bring baobei to my mom's shop to do his facial first. What a vain pot!
Anyways, goodness, had a shopping spree today!
Spent alot of money. OR should i say OVERSPENT alot.
Got sucked into the mango sale and blew 80 bucks on two tops. Walking around vivo, you cant help but patronise the rest of the many shops too. And in those shops, you can't help but spend. Ended up with 3 new tops and a pair of shorts. Hoho. The shorts was boon's birthday present for me. Thanks! :)
Ok lar, it's time for ah wang. Later!

I don't usually get cramps.
In fact, i was always one of those girls who could never understand why my classmates couldn't take PE because "they were having cramps". And so when it happened this afternoon, i felt like i was going to die.
It's not easy to describe that feeling. You can't sit, you can't stand and even rolling around in bed hurts the hell out of you. You feel like puking, you feel like poo-ing and you see your face turn into a shade of greenish white. You break into cold sweat and you feel like you could faint just about any moment now. Arghhhh.
All these in preparation for a baby. Every month, we go through this just in case we want a baby. So let's see. Say i have four kids, i'll prob only need this lining for four months in my entire life. But oh no...from 13 to say 55, i'm gonna keep getting such cramps - just in case. Gosh.
You guys out there, you better appreciate your woman when she's bearing your kids. Cause guess what, just in case your ignorant brains didn't register: it's not just 9 months of child-bearing, but more than 40 years of monthly menstrual cramps!
You guys get locked in the army for two years and you boast about your "pain and suffering" for the rest of your life. You meet your army buddies after 20 years and still "remember those good ol' days". Do you see moms slapping each other on the back and guzzling jugs of beer while "remember those good ol' days of child-bearing"?
Guys are really such sissy sometimes.
Har-hah!

Am feeling very very very grossed out with myself right now. I ate damn alot today!
Breakfast: I had two THICK slices of traditional bread. One with kaya, the other with peanut butter.
Snack: Around 10 packets of seaweed.
Lunch: One bowl of lotus soup. 3 Kweys ( one stuffed with rice, 2 with vegetable), curry and bah kauh.
Dinner: Asam fish, kangkong, more 2 more kweys, longans, bah kut teh.
Feeeeeling: Fantastically grossed out with myself.
Yikes!
On a happier note: I am so proud of dearie who completed the 42km stant chart run today!!! Haiyo, a sweaty man is a sexy man! (only if they don't stink though) haha.
So since i won't be getting a t-shirt that says : Finisher of 42km. I can get a tshirt that says: My boyfriend is a finisher of the 42km run! Not as cool, but oh wells at least i aint the one with the aching muscles! hoho

Travis - Flowers in the Window
There's no reason to feel bad
But there are many reasons to feel glad, sad, mad
Its just a bunch of feelings that we have to hold
But i am here to help you with the load.
Wow look at you now
Flowers in the window
It's such a lovely day
And i am glad that you feel the same
Cause to stand up i'm in the crowd
You're one in a million
And i love you so, so lets watch the flowers grow.
