Around the "world"
________________________________________________________________
Ok, this feels kinda weird, blogging in indiana. Listening to Andy Lau on winamp. In the room of the first guy i ever fell in love with. In a land so far away from the place were we first met.
Been travelling for two weeks now. Flew from LA to Washington D.C then to Philadelphia then to New York and here i am in Indiana. Just drove up to Chicago yesterday. It's feels like a long time away from home. Adding more ticks to my own personal "places in the world i've been to"list.
Washington was an ok place, as expected, alot of monuments, all the important buildings, the white house, many other tall whitish important structures too. Not a very exciting place but as i walk through the city, i recognise buildings i've seen on cnn and all the other news channels. I travelled with three other girls during this trip till indiana. And thanks to my resourceful friends who have friends all over the world, we actually had guides in both D.C and Philly to bring us around. See..so blessed! :) The two guys who brought us around were really nice. what did we do to deserve meeting them? Willie, our guide in D.C, C's JC classmate even treated us to a 250USD meal. Yes, he refused to accept our money. Joe, S's friend in philly drove us all over the place, and now he and i are close friends. We sms all the time when i am bored and chat online with him on speakers and me on webcam. haha. retards.
Oh yah! Before i forget. Our trip was an exciting one. Alot of screwing ups. It started off on an exciting note when we missed our flight to D.C. Yes, u heard me right. We missed our flight. The first time i ever missed a flight. Was so excitingly scary. Haha. The shuttle bus we booked to bring us to the airport actually broke down along the way. Yes, and i thought that only happens in lame chinese movie when the female lead is trying to go the airport while the male lead chase behind and then they somehow miss each other. haha. Got to the airport line at 115, when our flight is at 135pm. We were all still so relaxed and fooling around till the airport guy told us, "nope, u guys missed it. the plane's already on the runway." You should have seen our faces when we heard that. All our jaws dropped. Then me and C suddenly both blurted out "you must be kidding right?!""and apparently the guy wasnt kidding. Thank God, we managed to catch the next flight two hours later. Phew. And since we have more time now, we decided to go BK for lunch. By then, the effects of my airsick pill was already taking its toll. Yes, i took the pill while we were rushing to airport on the cab. And so throughout lunch, i was feeling so sleepy. falling asleep while i was muching on my salad. Suddenly. C checked her boarding pass and realised that we missed our boarding time by 5 mins! Shit-ke-nathan. We fly out of BK and rushed all the way to our gate in our heavy bags, making a scene as the seven of us run like mad asians in an american airport. Phew. Thankfully we didnt miss the plane, like again.
Had to transit at kansas city. We decided to get off the plane for a walk. Was walking on the plane platform and A said "hey what time must we cant back on again? better take note, or else we have to stay in kansas and pluck berries for the rest of our lives." we all burst into laughter and then shit-ke-nathan. This big white with a big bunch of fiery red hair turned around and said "You guys are in missouri. and Kansas city is my hometown, dont insult it." Sigh. What a shitty day right. Anyways, managed to get to D.C safely but had to rush the last train to our horrible hotel. Only to realised that the location is so freaking bad. We were all starving and decided to call for pizza since there aint any civilisation around the place. Pizza place called. Flipped through the dusty yellowpages to find chinese takeout and everywhere else is closed too. We all decided to go to bed with an empty stomach and hope for the best the next day.
Yep..see that was only the first day and i have so much to write. I dont think i will continue since it will be too tiring to write and boring to read. Anyways, new york was great. The energy of the place, the air, the atmosphere, time square...gosh. It's an amazing place to be. Words can never be used to describe the place. We just walked aroud, visited the tourist places, saw libby (statue of liberty), wall trade center, or rather whats left, central park, watched broadway...sat in cafes and ate late at night. Played tons of bridge in starbucks....took the subway, got lost, got back on track again, visited brooklyn, toook tons of pictures, played more bridge, ate perusian food. It was a really really nice experience. And now, i am in boring indiana with an ex feeling kinda weird. 200 bucks left in my bank account, 150 spent on credit card, just found out i got bad grades thanks to my "wonderful"class attendance and missed presentations. Woohoo. Life of an exchange student. This, i am definately gonna miss. But oh no, NTU is gonna screw me cause i didnt do well. How how how?!
Haiyo...ok lar. super tired and lazy to type more. Will update again and prob only be able to upload pics when i get back to singapore. Oh yah, reaching singapore on 8th june. woohoo. Two more weeks and bye bye america!

Travis - Flowers in the Window
There's no reason to feel bad
But there are many reasons to feel glad, sad, mad
Its just a bunch of feelings that we have to hold
But i am here to help you with the load.
Wow look at you now
Flowers in the window
It's such a lovely day
And i am glad that you feel the same
Cause to stand up i'm in the crowd
You're one in a million
And i love you so, so lets watch the flowers grow.
