I wish i could stop time. ________________________________________________________________
Goodess. Time really does seem to fly.

Monday, tuesday, weekend, monday, tuesday, weekend. OH my. Before you know it, this half of the year would be over.

Busy busy at work. My editor's not very friendly and just demands me to do work. She doesn't even say it nicely. Boo! Oh wells.

My weight-loss program officially started today. Armed with my metabolic booster pill and 3 days of treadmill running during lunch time, i need to lose it all fast! Did 4km today. A very very rare thing. Haha. Sis tells me the dress should be made in may, so i've got 2 months to change things! And she told me her three other "jie meis" are all tiny idiots, so i'll look HUGE beside them if i dont lose weight! Haiyo...Machiam my wedding. Alrighty, pls just sms me to check on my exercise routine to ensure that its regular. I'll be running every monday, wed and fri at around 12.20pm, so just give me a beep! Will be much appreciated!

Alrighty, time to go to bed. Early day again tmr. I wanna sleep in!!!

Crap. ________________________________________________________________
So little time, so much to do.

I'm frustrated and irritated by the slightest thing now. Someone came up to me at 11.30 at bloody bedok interchange just now and asked me to do some survey. I didn't even look at him, wore the blackest face you've ever seen and stormed off. He was saying all kind of bull crap trying to joke around. Pissed me off.

Arghh. It's probably pms.

I am so tempted to plan a secret weekend getaway. Off my mobile for 2 days and just disappear. Maybe i'll just rot at home, maybe i'll go somewhere. Who knows? It sounds extremely appealing right now.

Arghh. I hate obligations.

Had a good service in church though. Powerful indeed.

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.

How true.

La Vie En Rose. ________________________________________________________________
It's been one week since V-day already. And so i decided to get rid of what's left of my v-day bouquet. What was pretty a week before somehow withered and transformed itself into a bunch of ugly dull petals.

While i was about to dump the petals into the bag by the sink, i somehow ended up playing with it instead.

A rose when in full-bloom, is gorgeous. Anyone who hates roses simply hasn't seen it at its best yet. The layers are all peeled open and you see the most intricate pattern over. All huddled up, they look like they are leaning onto each other for some warmth. In bright passion red, it's dressed to kill.

But when it dies off before going into full-bloom, you know that somehow something went wrong. Either you didn't give it the water it needed, or simply because the rose wasn't fresh to start with.

People in relationships are the same. When someone tells you that relationships are horrible and never worth the effort or simply overrated, they simply hasn't seen relationships at its best.

When you don't give your relationship enough time and effort and of course the tender-loving care it needs, it dies off before even going into full bloom. That's just a complete waste because it could have come out a complete beauty but you turned it into a complete disaster.

If you give it enough time and love, you journey through its lifespan and enjoy every minute of it.

But then again, no matter how much love you give it, flowers don't last forever do they? Someday, somehow, the petals fall and you find yourself back at round one, feeling naked and inadequate, with nothing but a single branch (your lonesome self) with you.

I guess it still holds true that nothing lasts forever.

Damn. Then why did i start this entire-flower-petal-crap talk in the first place?!

A late night movie. ________________________________________________________________
Ok, so it was not that smart an idea to suggest watching a dvd at home after we both had a long day.

Dearie went to m'sia today with the bunch. They sang ktv and had cheap seafood! There was no gilmore girls for me though. BOO.

Holidays. Even for a week or what NUS calls it 4 days, i miss them terribly! Being at work means you don't get holidays like that anymore. Weekend's precious like diamonds but they don't last forever. Boo.

And so i had to go for tuition after work. So tiring. It's the primary school CA exams next week. That explains the 3 lessons this week. Goodness. I actually overshot my stop and ended up having to make a very big detour. But guess what, i bumped into a CC colleague on the way. Haha. It was quite funny and she kept insisting for me to come to her birthday party at zouk in 2 weeks. Err. Hmm. Anti-social-ness kicking in again. Haha

So by the time we had the video on, we were both ready to fall asleep. Besides, it was my third time watching meet the fockers. But still, it was nice being able to see my dearie on a monday. It just makes the blue blue monday seems alot better, a nice ending to a tiring day.

Thank you for coming over. :)

Some random stuff. ________________________________________________________________
Just came back from a good chill-out session with GHAM. GD took over your position today xiaoli. We needed a stand-in haha. Went to check LOOF out but it was too crowded. So ended up at another bar in swiss hotel.

My US friends came over after, and i met him for one last time before he departs tmr morning. Goodbye. These dudes are constantly flying in and out. How exciting! I wanna go back to LA! And just travel like crazy. BOO.

Work is getting alot more interesting these days. Interviewed my inspiration the other day. Goodness. She's one confident and well-spoken lady. I just want to keep talking to her! I didn't want the interview to end! Oh wells.

Had a photoshoot the other day. Singapore hunky sportsmen. Haha. It's really quite nice to order a guy to strip before you and inspect their body. And sometimes you even get to lather baby oil on them to give them that extra sparkle. Haha. A feast for the eyes indeed.

Alrighty, it's gilmore time. Weekends are so precious. Just gotta treasure them.

History. ________________________________________________________________
Stuff from the past, makes part of us. Everything we went through is part of our being, making us who we are today. Stronger, weaker, they somehow formed us. My past might look really colorful, some parts i'm proud of, others i'm not. I hope nothing i said changed the way things are between us. I hope you still love me the way you did.

Happy valentines' day. Thank you for all the sweetness.

The little sweet stuff. ________________________________________________________________
It was 12.30am and i was lazing in my parents' room, massaging my mom's arm and reading my book.

Mom's been complaining of aching arms and legs now without the aid of a maid.

Dad went out into the kitchen.

5 minutes later, he came back into the room with a GIANT red tub.

" What are you doing?!" mom asked.

I could see that she was slightly annoyed that he's "messing" up the room.

" For you to soak your feet in," he answered.

And so mom went on to complain about how he's dirtying the room with the spilling hot water and all.

" It's 12.35 already, only doing this because it's valentine's day," dad said.

I roared aloud in thunderous laughter. As i sneaked a peek at mom, she was smiling.

These are the moments when i believe true love does exist, even after 29 years.

Happy Valentines' day everyone. :)

A touching moment. ________________________________________________________________
Ok, who is having monday blues apart from me?!

WOW, i see the entire Spore raising their hands.

I know i've been a boring blogger recently, but hey, who says i'm here to entertain you? Haha. Recently i learnt something pretty important and useful from my dearie.

"If you take things alot lighter, you'll be alot happier," he said.

I found truth in that sentence, but sometimes, it's just hard to do. So whenever anything or anyone now falls short of my expectations, i just remember that phrase. But when i take things lighter, i find these ppl losing their prized priority in my life too. You gain some and you lose some?

Anyway, it's been awhile since i read another book which made me cry! I was on my way to church on 854, when i was reading the book. And goodness, 2 drops of big fat tears came rolling down my cheeks. It was highly embarrassing.

So its a story about this crazy, hyper-active labrador, who surprisingly shared the family's grief when the couple had a miscarriage. It was the scene when they just came back from the hospital after told of the news. The wife was stoned and silent throughout the ride and when they got home....

When i turned the corner, i stopped short. I would have bet a week's pay that what i was looking at couldn't possibly happen. Our rambunctious, wired dig stood with his shoulders between jenny's knees, his big, blocky head resting quietly in her lap. His tail hung flat between his legs, the first time i could remember it not wagging whenever he was touching one of us. HIs eyes were turned up at her, and he whimpered softly. She stroked his head a few times and then, with no warning, buried her face in the thick fur of his neck and began sobbing. Hard, unrestrained, from the gut-sobbing.

They stayed like that for a long time, Marley statue-still, jenny clutching him to her like an oversized doll. I stood off to the side feeling like a voyeur intruding on this private moment, not quite knowing what to do with myself. And then, without lifting her face, she raised her arm up toward me, and i joined her on the couch and wrapped my arms around her. There the three of us stayed, locked in our embrace of shared grief. - Marley & Me, John Grogan.

I swear this is one of those honest, down to earth, sincere, feel good book which i'll read again. Haven been able to put it down this weekend!

Alrighty, its gilmore time!

I wanna be a gilmore. ________________________________________________________________
I am basking in Gilmore madness!

Finally got down to ordering the season online and woohoo. I just wanna finish them all in one shot. Dean suddenly looks so darn good now that he's not with rory, and jess suddenly looks so bad i have no idea why. It's the concept of the grass is always greener on the other side, and what you have always isn't as good as what you don't!

And everyone looks so much prettier in this season. I just love seeing pretty ppl on screen. Not in real life though. Did i tell you how i think my colleague's so pretty i get so distracted everything i talk to her? It's like i'll be talking to her and then i find myself starring at her face. I am checking her out!!! Haiyo. How gross is that.

Alrighty, gonna get ready for church now. Cya all in awhile.

Living hell. ________________________________________________________________
Just finished this utterly horrifying book i had to do for may's review at work. It's about this irish guy who got conned by some businessmen in thailand, got half a million stolen and was eventually accused of murder and somehow spent 8 yrs in a thai prison before he finally fought his case.

Two of the trustees held me down while another two lifted my leg and held it on the anvil. The chain man slipped the ankle ring over my feet and hammered it closed. I was manhandled like a wild animal.

Now i was shackled. I felt like a slave, overcomed with a sense of utter desolation and despair.

I refused to pick up the chains and walk on. On one hand i kept saying to myself that i wasn't a fucking animal and i wasn't going to accept being chained like one.

In reality, the chains represented the end of my life. I had not only lost my liberty but also my self belief. - Welcome to hell, col*in mart*in

The writing was boring and simple but the details and facts were astonishing, couldn't bare to leave it half-read.

Interview tmr morning over breakfast in town. How is it possible to have a $15 meal at CC?! Company's budget. Crazy.

A friend from the US caught me on surprise when he rang me in the afternoon. Apparently he's back for a 2 week vacation. Though he's singaporean, he no longer knows what's there to do over here.Hopefully i'll be able to catch up with him and catch up on all the old times when i used to cruise in his convertible. Haha. We watched napolean dynamite and ate ice cream at denny's at 3 in the morning. Old times.

Alrighty, shall hit the sack. Long time again tmr.

I guess i should have posted this like 2 weeks earlier, to match J's excitement, sorry i was a ltitle too late. Haha.

The much talked about evo finally came for my bro-in-law. As you can see, it's freaking bright red in color and it came in time to welcome the chinese new year. A rather auspicious sign i must say. However, not everyone was this happy.

Sis hates the car. Haha. As much as the car's alot more comfortable with 4 doors instead of 2, with a much bigger leg room, i must admit that it's a tad bit too beng for the Tohs' taste. But looking at how excited J was, i couldn't help but feel happy for him. haha. He took us out for a spin and was excited to show us all the gadgets and works of that hot sauce. It's performance is pretty impressive i think, but too bad we being girls care nothing for the car except for its looks.

Oh wells. No worries. Problem's solved. Sis got herself a pair of gucci shades so ppl wouldn't be able to recognise her when she's sitting in that ah beng car. Haha. Rather ingenious i must agree.

--

Went down to ikea in the evening. Someone's shoes got stolen and we had to go shop for a new pair at queensway. Ended up with a pair of holely shoes that's apparently perfect for the beach. Haha. Who wears shoes to the beach anyways?!

It was a simple and nice day. I wish things could be this way always. I like coming home happy and smiling, feeling warm and fuzzy from your touch.

so now we're here and now is fine,
so far away from there and there is time, time, time
to plant new seeds and watch them grow
so there'll be flowers in the window when we go...

Some sick person sent me a message on friendster. He requested to meet up and "have some fun".

Shit you sicko. Go screw yourself.

Can't believe i am doing work on a sunday morning. Two of my colleagues are leaving in feb and i've got to clear all their work. Some of the stuff i did got sent back too and i've got to redo them.

And then there's the story i have to work on. Meeting people for proper interviews next week over lunch. 1-1 interviews. I hate it when things get too intense. And they were all from NUS law school, so they must be really eloquent. And goodness, one of them is Sele*na Tan. I am so afraid i'll mess up and look silly in front of her i haven't dared set an interview date with her. Gonna practice on the 2 others before i meet her. Hopefully i'll sound and look semi-professional by then!

I am suddenly in love with Travis. I can't help but google up their lyrics at work whenever i am listening to the bands' songs. Goodness.

Had a great saturday. Church was great with delirious worshipping with us. Kevin came to church in PANTS! :) We had a long talk, nice dinner, nice cheesecake and then i met up with my nicest cousin. Hohoho. Life's great on weekends. haha.

Alrighty, have a great weekend guys!

A little story. ________________________________________________________________
There was a little girl in a little village. She was a great kid. Everyone remembers her as the cheerful and bubbly girl from the wealthy family in town.

The girl has always been happy, always having her loving family to fend and protect her from any possible harm that might come her way. The little girl slowly grew up and had a character of her own. She was strong but not hard, she was mild but not weak, she was funny but not annoying, she was happy but not ecstatic. She lived a happy life, constantly having crowds of friends around her, keeping her busy.

Boys came into her life, slowly but surely. Everyone thought she was confident but she wasn't really. She spoke well and she dressed well. She carried herself well and proper. The boys were impressed with her humour and the joy she could bring. She lived and she loved. People came into her hearts and held a special place, but never for long. Everything was intense and passionate but nothing ever lasted. Her love turned into jealousy, her concern turned into envy. She saw every mistake anyone could ever make and she wasn't happy.

The girl decided to have some independence and went on to live life alone for awhile. The people who comes into her life were always wrong anyway, she was convinced. Time was short for her. Everyday was filled with activities. She was an active kid with lots of commitment. Friends wanted her with them all the time, never leaving her out of fun.

She went on and enjoyed life for awhile and one day something special came along. She found joy in the weirdest situation with the weirdest person. She was keen and excited, so excited she could barely contained her excitement. Things had never been so right in her life before. Everything was just perfect. Little did she know, perfection never lasts because humans focus on nothing but imperfection. Glorious details fades away only to be corroded and covered by ugly scars and broken lines.

The girl was confused. How did something so perfect suddenly break into such fine pieces over night? The scary thing was, no one else saw the imperfection but her. Everywhere she turned she saw smiling faces, eager greetings. She freaked. Was she caught in limbo? Did no one see what she saw? It was obvious! She thought. She pondered and she pondered. She was gutless. She made no decision for abandonment. It wasn't a choice she told herself.

She hang on and she looked on. The precious little thing seems ignorant of all her unnecesarry concerns. Where they really unnecessary? She looked at it longingly and she gave tender loving care. The more imperfection she saw, the more she tried to cover up for it. She gave and she gave. She painted her own little covering to shield what was broken. She convinced herself everything was great.

She went for a drive one day. She was already all grown up by then. The girl realised she was no longer as happy as she used to be. A seed of burden was growing inside her. She had to admit it. She had to make a painful decision.

She drove fast and furious to the beach. Tears of frustration and devastation rolled down her cheeks as she drew nearer and nearer towards the beach. Why couldn't she ever keep anything perfect, pure and happy she screamed at her inner conscience.

The sign told her she'd arrived. Very slowly she got out of the car and with jaded steps she walked on. With the precious thing in her cupped hands, she walked closer and closer towards the sand. One last look, she told herself.

With a fierce determination, she smashed the precious thing onto the sand. Everything was shattered. But she had a vision before it. The precious thing was already shattered before she even dropped it. It was shattered by her heart. Smashed to tiny little pieces, you could never piece back again. She poured sand over the pieces, trying as best as she could to hide the hideous act she had just comitted. She was ashamed.

The precious thing was gone, she had to cope on.

She went back to the car and started the engine. She pulled on her shades, blast the stereo and drove on. She'd never felt this light in a long while.

The little girl was happy again.

Dry hair dry! ________________________________________________________________
You know what's bad about having long hair? When you have to wait for it to dry!!!

It's 1.50 am and i can't go to bed because my hair ain't dry.

Am watching this stupid show on mtv whereby these girls are watching their boyfriends flirt with other girls on the beach. Haiyo. Jealousy kills. The worst thing being, the guys know that they are being watched by their gfs and thye are actually just putting on a show to piss their girls off. How much worse can this show get?

Watched i not stupid after BS just now. It wasn't too bad. No exciting plot but generally enjoyable and funny. I still prefer fun with dick and jane though. That was HILARIOUS. haha.

Alrighty, i am bored watching myself type boring stuff. Shall go back to waiting for my hair to dry.

* Ps: i am officially sick of steamboats.

Starlight, starbright. Watching the star's becoming one of our regular activities these days.

I'm having horrible cramps and blues. Kept getting myself frustrated today. It was fun having all the relatives over today, but cleaning up was oh so tiring.

And so the church class is starting tmr. I feel kind of uncomfortable taking it together. But oh wells...i sure hope it helps.

I've been eating way too much, think i am gonna resort to galvin's pills soon. Sis told me i should get measured up for the gowns in april/may, so i don't have much time.

I'm tired and lost, and i can't think of a better something to blame it on other than pms.

I'm typing random thoughts and if you don't like it, it's just too bad. Cause you know what?! I have to work tomorrow and i'm having pms, SO I'M QUEEN.

Bye all. Great week ahead.

Lyric of the month

Travis - Flowers in the Window

There's no reason to feel bad
But there are many reasons to feel glad, sad, mad
Its just a bunch of feelings that we have to hold
But i am here to help you with the load.

Wow look at you now
Flowers in the window
It's such a lovely day
And i am glad that you feel the same
Cause to stand up i'm in the crowd
You're one in a million
And i love you so, so lets watch the flowers grow.
